What Are Hashtags and How Are They Used For Abstract Art?
"Abstract Art" is vague enough an enigma, without having a commonly agreed definition. As for exactly what it is, as mentioned above, it's a style of photography. However, it's also an example of how art can be appreciated in a totally different way by different people. For example, when I see photos of watercolors and brush strokes I instantly appreciate the quality of the art. But then again, maybe you might find an artistic quality in the photos that makes your eyes glaze over. Or perhaps you might think that both photos are photos of actual objects taken in different environments, but they are still photos of abstract art.
One common explanation for why some people will appreciate abstract art photos on instagram is because the Instagram user has chosen to use simple colors and bright, bold, or at least energetic fonts. This, plus the simple background, make photos on instagram accessible to a wide variety of people. Some Instagram users only use the default fonts or theme, but there are also those who customize their profiles with photos that aren't necessarily fashion-themed. There are even some Instagram users who use photos from major motion pictures. So it's possible that a person could use a photograph of a bear in order to caption one of the many Instagram photos that display the theme of simplicity and youth.

What makes the internet so appealing as a market? For example, many resourceryartists use photos on instastory because they like to encourage conversations between fellow artists. They love that interaction between artists - so they encourage it among their followers too! One Instagram user, Julia, posted a photo of her husband and their dog walking along the beach. She captioned it, "Love the view and the sea! # Instagram".
That picture is actually a work by Julia Greenfield called "Reflections in Mirrors" and it's part of a series of images called "pixel Art". In this particular image, Julia sits down and holds up a mirror, which is made of acrylic paint. Then she places several cans of ink on the surface of the mirror. As she moves her head, the ink bounces off of the reflections in the glass and makes the entire painting become blurred. It's an incredibly beautiful piece, and one that I imagine can only be appreciated by someone who appreciates abstract art.
Another popular instagram abstract hashtags is created by photographer extraordinaire Lane Patterson. A photo of his cat, Phat, was originally posted on his blog with the caption, "A picture says more than a thousand words". He captioned it, "A photo is worth a thousand words".

The above photo appears to be the work of photographic artist Lane Patterson and it was originally posted on instagram by his wife, Holly. This photo is called, "Cat Scratchings", and it's a collage of photos and art that Patterson created for an online exhibit. In this particular collage, Patterson was able to include many pieces of abstract photography, all produced within the last decade or so.
The third instagrammable photo that we're going to discuss was posted by photographer Evan Parker. His famous instagrammable tagline is "tagging is not about tagging". The image in this collage is entitled, "Starry Night", and it was taken while Parker was napping on a plane. He posted the image on instagram and tagged his friends for inspiration and have developed a close relationship with them since then.
